RESULTS FROM NELSON vs MARLBOROUGH CLUB MATCH - SATURDAY 20 FEBRUARY:
57 Marlborough Club members came across last Saturday for an excellent day's golf in brilliant weather. A total of 133 players participated in the 12 noon shotgun start and the Home side managed to win 3 of the 4 trophies at stake calculated on average stableford scores..
MEN'S FIRST DIVISION (0 - 10 HCP): Marlborough 33.7pts beat Nelson 31.4pts
MEN'S SECOND DIVISION (11 - 18 HCP): Nelson 34.2pts beat Marlborough 32.2pts
MEN'S THIRD DIVISION (19 - 36 HCP): Nelson 32.76pts beat Marlborough 32.71pts
WOMEN'S DIVISION: Nelson 30.0pts beat Marlborough 27.1pts

WEEKEND WOMEN'S OPENING DAY - SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY:
Weekend Women's Opening Day is SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY with a reporting time of 8.00am.
New members (as well as old ones) are most welcome.

TREE REMOVAL - SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY:
Members should note that 9 trees on the course that have been identified for removal by the Tree Committee and approved by the Board , will be felled with the aid of the South Pine log loader early this Saturday morning. Members should give way to the log loader and go safely past any felling operations they encounter.
LAST CHANCE TO PAY YOUR SUBS AND GET THE PROMPT PAYMENT DISCOUNT:
A reminder that to qualify for the prompt payment discount, members need to pay their subscription in full BY MONDAY 1 MARCH. For convenience of members, Allison will be available to receive subscriptions on SATURDAY 27th from 10.00am until 1.00pm.
Members should note that their last years membership EXPIRED ON 31 JANUARY 2010 and that they should be making arrangements with the office staff before the end of this month if they wish to pay their subscription by installments.
This seasons programme is now available for members to pick up from outside the office. New membership cards are being issued to members as they pay and renew their membership. Members paying direct by internet banking, please call at the office and pick up your membership cards.
SLOAN TROPHY TEAM:
It is extremely disappointing to note that only 4 men turned up last Sunday to participate in the trial to select our Sloan Trophy Interclub Team. Apart from our elite Tasman Cup team, the Sloan Trophy team is the main Men's Club representative team that competes in Interclub competitiion. Keir Wilkinson DESPARATELY needs to hear from any members who have handicap indicies in the range 6..5 to 21.4 who are prepared to represent their Club one Sunday per month from March to November. WOMEN'S OPEN STABLEFORD TOURNAMENT - THURSDAY 4 MARCH:
Entries are still being accepted for our Women's Open Stableford Tournament which is to be held on THURSDAY 4 MARCH. There is a shotgun start at 9.00am and late entries should contact Margo Lukes on 544 7718.
MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES CLOSE - MONDAY 8 MARCH:
Just a reminder that entries for the Men's Club Championships close at 5.00pm on MONDAY 8 MARCH. Please make sure your name is entered on the sheet posted in the Men's Change Room.
FIREWOOD GATHERING - EVERY MONDAY UNTIL THE END OF MARCH:
Members are invited to gather firewood from the slash pile adjacent to the #2 green every Monday through until the end of March. The Grounds Staff will pull out logs and lay them out beside the slash pile for members to cut up from 9.00am on Mondays. Members MUST HAVE SIGNED A CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FORM AND HAVE ALL THE REQUIRED SAFETY GEAR. Please call at the office to sign the reqired form.
IMPROVEMENT OF TEE TO FAIRWAY CONDITION FROM #13 TEE:
Members will note that the grounds staff are in the process of installing some plastic matting on the exit path from the #13 tee. The Club has been given samples of this matting to trial in locations of excessive use. Top soil will be spread over the matting and grass seed sown next week. Similar to the trial recently laid on the exit from the #14 green, players will be kept off the new grass until it has become well established.
