RESULTS OF MEN'S McQUADE MUG ROUND - SATURDAY 5 JUNE:
The McQuade Mug was at stake last Saturday when the men played a medal round off the Blue tees. Although the conditions were good - soft, cool and calm - the scores were not , with only one player out of a field of 68 scoring under their handicap. That player was the Duty Officer - MERV HUSTON - whose net 68 was 3 shots clear of the rest of the field. Congratulations Merv - well deserved! Members beware of Merv on Saturday's as he moves around the Clubhouse seeking out victims to fill his MUG. He has already clobbered me - I wonder why??
GAVIN COOK scored a hole in one on the third hole but his net 71 was still not good enough to win the Mug.

Attached please find a flyer giving the current Term Investment Rates available from NBS.
USE OF DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES ON NELSON GOLF CLUB:
At the last meeting of the Board of Directors, a resolution was passed to allow Distance Measuring Devices to be used for regular club play on the course except for the Club Championships. Directors of Tournaments staged at Nelson Golf Club have the choice to allow, or not allow the use of DMD's in their tournaments as long as participants are advised prior to entry.
A new local rule has been introduced that states that "A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg. gradient, wind-speed, temperature etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used."
MOUNDS ON #2 HOLE IN PLAY FROM SATURDAY 5 JUNE:
Members are reminded that the new mounds alongside #2 hole are now in play (ie. PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES). The only exceptions to this are the final quarter of the mounding on the left side between the two blue topped stakes and the small area painted out at the bottom of the new mound on the right side close to the #2 green. These areas are still classed as GUR and players have the OPTION OF A FREE DROP WITHIN ONE CLUB-LENGTH OF AND NOT NEARER THE HOLE THAN THE NEAREST POINT OF RELIEF.
NEW EXIT FROM #2 GREEN:
The new exit pathway from #2 green is now available for use and members are encouraged to use it in preference to the old exit which will eventually be mounded over.
