This is a single matchplay event played on ruling handicap.
DRIVING RANGE TEE BLOCK:
Could members using the Driving Range please TEE OFF FROM WITHIN THE ROPE MARKERS. The marker ropes are specifically placed to ensure even wear on the tee block and to protect the tee area that was undersown in Autumn. New grass has no show of establishing if inconsiderate people choose to play off it before they are allowed to!!
GARDENS BETWEEN #12 AND #7 NOW CLASSED AS GROUND UNDER REPAIR:
Members should note that the garden between #12 and #7 has been heavily thinned out as part of the planned course redevelopment and is currently classed as GUR. This area will be tidied up and reshaped next week ready for sowing in Spring. Some of the better plants removed from this area will be replanted on other areas of the course. The long-term plan is to extend the clump plantings of native shrubs further along these mounds toward the #12 green.
COMPUTER TEE BOOKINGS:
With the frost policy in place and limited tee times available each day, it becomes VERY IMPORTANT FOR MEMBERS TO CANCEL THEIR BOOKING IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO HONOUR IT. On the day of the booking when you are unable to cancel on the computer yourself, PLEASE PHONE THE PRO-SHOP AND GET THEM TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING. It is vital for the Pro-Shop to have this information so that other players can utilise the unfilled tee time.
NEW MEMBERSHIP DRIVE - TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE OFFER DURING JUNE FOR ALL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:
In an effort to attract new members to the Club, the Board has approved an offer of "TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE" memberships over all categories for the May-June period. If you know of anyone thinking of joining a golf club, now is the time for them to act!! If they can team up with another person (don't have to be the same gender - could be mother & son even) then they can obtain membership for half price.
JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFYING ROUND - SUNDAY 4 JULY:
Advance notice is given that the QUALIFYING ROUND FOR THE JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held on SUNDAY 4 JULY , the first Sunday of the School Holidays. REMINDER ABOUT FIREWOOD GATHERING:
Members who have the required chainsaw & safety equipment are reminded that they can gather firewood for FREE from the slash pile beside #2 green. This slash pile is out of the area of play so we are now allowing members to source this firewood on any day of the week as long as they have signed a form regarding conditions of access which are available at the office.
Happy Golfing
