TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS FOR THE 2024 NBS NELSON FESTIVAL OF GOLF
- The tournament shall be played under the 2019 Rules of Golf as approved by the R & A of St Andrews and the USGA, together with the local rules of the three participating golf clubs.
- There will be handicap index restrictions as follows: Men 30 and Women 36. The tournament will be played under the World Handicapping System (WHS) where handicaps change daily. The format of the Individual Tournament will be Stableford, played in Divisions. Each player will stay in the Division they start the Tournament, no matter if there is a change to their handicap during the Tournament.
- The format of the Team Day, will be Hidden Team Partners. Each player will play with their chosen group as a Stableford round, and hand their cards to the Committee after their round. Then their score will be added to their hidden partners scores to get a 4 person total. No-one will know who their partners are till after the round.
- Distance Measuring Devices are permitted in the tournament and this over-rides any local rule at any individual club involved in the tournament.
- The Start Sheet can only be altered by the Committee. If anyone has a reason for wanting to change their slot they must approach the Committee to ask permission before making any changes
- Decisions of ties: For the daily prizes, ties will be decided by the results print out from the Dot Golf Computer System. For a tie in the Overall Champion result, this will be decided with the player from the tied scores with the highest Stableford score during the week being declared the winner, or if there is still a tie, work through their 4 scores on that basis. If there is still a tie, it will be decided by drawn lot.
- No player may win more than one prize from the Major Prize List.
- On completion of each round, players must check and sign their score card and hand their card in to the Committee for checking. The Committee will then enter the card into the computer.
- Limited Golf carts are available for hire but to avoid confusion, they must be booked through us not the Clubs direct. A medical certificate is required and a copy must be sent to [email protected] when booking the cart. Cost will be $20 per player for a shared cart and $25 for single use.
- Pace of Play: It is the players’ responsibility to keep their place in the field. Keep up with the group in front and call the group behind through in “lost ball” situations, and clear the green quickly on completion of play. The Committee reserves the right to penalise players who cause undue delay though slow play in accordance with the Rules. Two hours ten minutes, per 9 holes, per group should be aspired to.
- Cancellation Clause: If, for any reason, anyone has to withdraw within four weeks from the start of the Tournament, the Committee will endeavour to find a replacement and should this be achieved, a full refund will be given. However, if a replacement cannot be found, we reserve the right to retain $100 of the entry to fee in order to cover our costs for course charges and meal costs which have been committed to at that stage.
- In the event of bad weather, the Committee reserves the right to suspend play as necessary. However, providing the courses are fit for play, it is our aim to continue play to a finish.
- The Tournament Director’s decisions throughout the Tournament are final.
