I have had an unexpected 2 week break so haven’t posted in my time away.
We have received 1199mm of rain so far this year. Last years total for the year was 645mm. This combined with a lack of drying winds and an Autumn sowing of grass has resulted in the best Fairway grass condition for many years. The downside is obviously the growth in the un-mown rough. The Grounds Committee will soon be meeting to discuss the Rough management along with other topics so please give feedback to a member if possible.
Most planned jobs have been completed apart from the herbicide application to the Tees, Fairways and Rough. This will be done as soon as possible when the weather allows. The Greens were recently sprayed and a good result achieved.
