Its been a busy week with the National LVA tournament on at the beginning of the week. They had a really tough Practice and 1st rounds with the strong Southerly winds but thankfully got to play the Course in nice conditions on the final 2 days.
The strong hot winds have dried the Fairways out which is a shame but they have also had a drying effect on the long rough which will please some members.
Late in the week we have given the Greens and Fairways a solid fertilizer. The Greens are to be Verti-drained on Monday and for the 1st time in 10 years the Course will be closed for a day while we work on the Greens. This is however as a result of the need to close the Course to use a Chemical we have in the shed. It requires no public access for 24 hrs after application so please observe this closure. This is a chemical that is no longer part of our Maintenance program but has been in the shed for over 5 years. Applying it to the Course is the safest and most cost effective way of disposing of it. Thanks for your understanding.
