3rd June 2016

3 June, 2016 By Brendon O'Hara

Well the cool morning frosts have certainly arrived. Great to know we are going to get such nice days after it lifts though.

You will notice the pump has been in the pond next to the Clubhouse. This is more investigation into the recharge rates of the groundwater. We certainly are still working towards having our own water supply to improve turf quality on the Course, progress is slow but the Water Committee remain determined about achieving a solution.

The Greens height of cut will be increased next week. This will allow us to bring the new Greens extensions into play quicker as they will be mown at the same height as the Greens from some point next week. The slow progression down from Surrounds to Greens height has seen these areas maintain good turf cover.

The Fairways height of cut will return to normal next week as well. The height of cut was raised to allow better conditions for the establishing grass to mature. It has meant an untidy appearance on the Fairways recently but the benefit has been worthwhile. You will notice fences on the 18th and now 5th Fairways. These are to reduce foot traffic as much as possible to allow the new grass to establish as best possible. Please drop out of these areas.
