Sorry there was no post last week, We were very busy preparing the Course for the Total Golf Open and I forgot to file a post before I left on Friday.
We have been transferring a large amount of sand that was stockpiled by the sheds down to the previously mulched area next to the 3rd Tees. There has been much comment this week about this becoming a Tee but we are just covering over the whole area as over time the mulched area has sunk in places making it hard to maintain. The whole area will be sown with grass in the near future.
All the newly mown out areas around greens have been fertilised, over the next few months they will also receive wetting agents, etc which will improve turf health. These areas are seen as more in keeping with a Links appearance.
The pump has been in the lake on the 1st this week. The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 13th holes all have drainage which feeds back to this lake. By lowering the level of the lake, this drainage is more effective meaning drier fairways for the golfers.
