A huge thanks to all the members who turned up last week to help with the storm clean up. Your efforts enabled the Course staff to focus on the larger clean up which greatly assisted in getting the full Course back into play as soon as we did.
There is a large amount of grass that has been affected by salt burn from the sea water. Some of it is starting to green up but the planned Autumn fairway seeding will be required to get these areas back into optimum shape.
The Grounds Committee and Board will discuss possible remedies to protect the Course from future damage. We have already had a site visit from an engineer to view the damage and offer thoughts on possible solutions. More information will be available to the members once we have a better idea on the options.
The long rough has been topped this week. If required a spray will be applied to thin it further.
