We are seeing Spring like growth on the Course which combined with the wet week is proving a challenge in maintaining the Grass growth. We have had to cut the Fairways and Rough while it was wet this week because if the growth was left for another week it would be even more of a mess out there. On the positive side, its nice to be complaining about to much grass out there for a change. Hard to keep a Greenkeeper happy!
The seed that was sown on the Fairways 2 weeks ago is just starting to germinate. The positive result on the Fairways that many are commenting on at the moment is a result of last years sowing. There has been twice as much seed sown this Autumn so it would be great to think the results from this years sowing could be an even better improvement.
With the upcoming short weeks and staff on annual leave, the main focus will be on keeping the place mown so as we can present the Course well for the Festival of Golf in early May.
