Its been a while since I last posted but I have been away on leave and I have to admit I forgot last week as we had an early finish last Friday after preparations were complete for the Festival of Golf. Once again, it was great to see so many people out on the Course having a good time in this event and a huge congratulations must go to the organizing team.
The Course has been receiving great comments from members and visitors alike. It is pleasing to see what can be achieved with a bit of seed and the right weather to enable it to flourish. These recent frosts will slow things down a bit but we should see another boost in turf cover in the Spring.
This week the Greens were Verti Drained. We will sand them quite heavily at some point when the weather allows next week. The idea is not to fill the holes, but to smooth out the surface as best as possible. They should be back to good condition by the end of the week. It normally takes longer to achieve this in the Autumn compared to the Spring due to the slower grass growth.
