Last weekends rain was extremely welcome. It has stimulated the recovery process in our Fairways. The Browntop seed that was sown last Autumn is returning from the dormancy it was in due to lack of irrigation. The Browntop grass is re-establishing faster than the other species which is in accordance with its characteristics. They won’t be mown this week to give this young grass a better chance of re-establishment without having machines on it. The Fairways were also fertilized on Monday to enhance the recovery. It is very pleasing to observe as while a lot of research was done, it is always good to see the plan working in reality.
This years Fairway seeding program will take place over the coming weeks.
We also have a verti-cutting, seeding and sanding plan to complete in the next few weeks.
The Tees were also sprayed with a herbicide to eradicate any weeds.
